Last Shabbat Councillor Jenny Headlam-Wells, the Mayor of Camden, gave a pre-kiddush talk to the congregation at Hampstead Synagogue. She explained the role of the Mayor saying how this was a non-political appointment. Her background is in education having been a secondary school teacher and university lecturer. She emphasised that her current interest is supporting her chosen charity namely the Camden Music Trust. The Trust's work is critical in ensuring that all children and young people benefit from musical education and engagement. Following her talk she attended the Kiddush and took the opportunity to speak to members on a one to one basis.
